To make your team give up, you must have each player choose to surrender. Even if one player does not accept the option, it will not work, and the match will continue as usual. If you’re queuing alone and want to get out of an unwinnable game, it’s a good idea to let your teammates know that you want to give up before entering an order.

You can’t ask to surrender before the 8th round, and you can only propose surrendering in Valorant once per half. This ensures that the surrender option cannot be abused or spammed. Communication with your teammates increases your chances of getting your team to give up. If you have a full team and lose, you’re better off finishing the match, but if there’s a hacker or you’re at the disadvantage of being cut off, you can propose giving up. Use it only if you believe there is no chance of winning.

Why You Should Not Surrender in Competitive

Even if giving up saves you time or avoids a bad in-game experience, many players believe that you will lose more MMR by quitting than completing matches. Not every match will go according to plan, but if you want to advance to the next rank, you will lose a fixed amount of MMR regardless of your performance, which is something to watch out for.
